Welcome to Next Wednesdays

Hi and welcome to Next Wednesdays.

The goal of Next Wednesdays is to address the (now ancient) question: given so much creativity, capital, and talent in London...where are all the great ideas/startups/innovation/deals?

Our answer to this question is simple.

Though there are tons of conferences and formal events in London, the difference between, for example, Silicon Valley or NYC and London is a lack of informal spaces, places, and get-togethers where interesting discussions happen on a regular basis...and, as a consequence, real relationships get built.

Put more simply, it's in relatively informal, laid-back settings that creativity, innovation - and deals - really get ignited.

Next Wednesdays is a get together for people at the intersection of these spaces: investors, like venture capitalists, and private equity guys; entrepreneurs, creatives, and generally shiftless types; and, last but not least, industry analysts, strategists, and M&A guys.

It is a weekly get together, where attendance is flexible and shifting. You can drop by every week, or once in a while; you can drop by for 20 minutes or two hours.

When you get here, you can join the discussion about what's happening next, bring a burning issue to the table, and get other peoples' opinions, network, amplify your dealflow, or just kick back, have a few drinks, and make some new connections.

Who attends and what do we discuss? These days, we're discussing media, software, and cleantech, with a focus on old vs new media. Recent attendees have included investors of all stripes, some visiting from across the pond, industry observers, analysts, and execs, plenty of our favorite startups, budding entrepreneurs, and a smattering of journalists.

Details of the location and time of each Next Wednesday will be posted here. We hope to see you there!
